"It's everyone's business"
An update from Police Sergeant Mark Rabel.
"The Constabulary have been busy in your area over the last couple of weeks in relation to Phase 4 of the Littleport Policing Plan of targeting specific criminality. There are a small number of recidivists who seem to be persisting in their behaviour – these people are now under a lot of scrutiny by our team. During the last two weeks we have instigated formal proceedings against 6 Littleport residents that have been causing public concern;
·A juvenile has been reported for court in relation to animal cruelty.
·A juvenile has been charged with assault.
·Two adult males have been arrested on suspicion of burglary and fraud and are currently under investigation.
·Two adult males were also arrested for burglary, charged, remanded and received custodial sentences.
There are several criminal investigations currently taking place in relation to crimes committed by youths. We are sharing info with other agencies including Housing providers, criminal and anti-social behaviour will likely have an effect on tenancies. We are already grateful that the Littleport community is reporting information and we really would encourage everyone in your community to continue to report incidents / crimes as the bigger the amount of evidence we can collate the more meaningful outcome will occur.
